An invite link doesn’t open the app

Open the link on your phone, with Dear Car installed and signed in. If the link opens this website instead, tap Open in Dear Car. Invite links can expire, and the garage owner can turn one off, so if it still doesn’t work, ask them for a new link.

Restore the Garage plan

On a new phone, sign in the same way as before: the same Apple or Google account, or the same email and password. Then open Account, choose Garage plan and tap Restore purchases. The plan belongs to your Dear Car account and to the store account that bought it.

Prices in your currency

The Garage plan costs USD 2.99 a month or USD 19.99 a year. Prices are set for each country, so your store shows the price in your currency, with any local taxes, before you buy, and it can differ from the US dollar price.

Switch between monthly and yearly

Both include the same things. On iPhone, choose the other option for the Garage plan in your App Store subscription settings; Apple decides when the change starts, usually at your next renewal. On Android, Google Play does not switch plans from its settings: cancel the current one in Google Play, then choose the other in Dear Car once the period you paid for ends, so you are never charged for both.

Cancel or get a refund

Cancel the Garage plan, monthly or yearly, in your Apple ID or Google Play subscriptions. It stays on until the end of the month or year you have paid for. After that nothing is deleted: the garage goes back to the free garage, with one car active and the others read-only, and other members paused until the plan is renewed (the details are in the Terms of Use). Apple and Google handle refunds: ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or Google from your Google Play order history. This doesn’t limit any refund right your country’s consumer law gives you.

Export your records

You can export any car’s records to a CSV file from the app, in every garage, free or not.

Leave a garage or remove someone

Anyone can leave a garage from the garage’s screen. The owner can also remove members and turn off invite links there.

Your country and units

Each garage has a country, taken from your phone’s region when the garage is made. It sets the currency, units, fuel grades, paperwork names and service schedule. If it’s wrong, change the garage’s country in the app. Each car can also switch between the normal and severe service schedules.

Your account

Change your name, language and sign-in methods in Account. If you forgot your password, tap Forgot password? on the sign-in screen and we email you a link. To delete your account, see Delete your account.
